The attendance at these meetings has been significant and it is clear from farmers’ reaction that much of the information relating to the Basic Payment Scheme has not fully sunk in.
2015 Entitlement Trade has Started
Rostons has begun the second period of Entitlement trading for 2015 as SPS entitlement has been rolled over to BPS entitlement on the 1st January 2015.
Deals in the last fortnight have been agreed at £50-£60/ha for English Non SDA and the entitlement team are taking enquiries from both perspective Vendors and Purchasers on a daily basis, discussing all types of Entitlement, Non SDA, SDA and Moorland.
HS2 – Phase One – Compensation and Assistance
A package of measures to compensate owner occupiers affected by the construction of the Phase 1 HS2 route between London and Birmingham was announced on 16 January 2015.
The package of measures introduced contains two new alternative cash schemes which enable owner occupiers to remain in properties and receive monetary compensation. This will help people and businesses to stay put rather than being financially persuaded, through potential compulsory acquisition or blight to move. Owner occupiers for these purposes will include residential properties, small business units and agricultural units.

New Requirement Needed fro Farmers to Receive Stewardship Payments
Under new regulations all Environmental Stewardship Agreement Holders, whether that be ELS, OELS, ULS or HLS will need to submit an annual claim for 2015 in order to be paid for their agreement.
