Planning Housing Minister Brandon Lewis, has announced that the temporary office to residential permanent development (PD) right, that was due to lapse at the end of May 2016, will be made permanent.
The Minister said that, in addition, the new permanent rights would allow office buildings to be pulled down and replaced with new residential buildings subject to limitations and prior approval by the Local Planning Authority.
Sam Catling from Rostons said ‘although this was expected the move is good for the economy and will assist in meeting the need of housing supplies in a sustainable manner without the need of developing further green spaces’.
