HS2 Phase 2A & 2B Update
The much talked about Oakervee Report on HS2 and its future which was expected to be published in the Autumn of 2019, this has now been delayed while the General Election takes place, it is now expected to be released in early 2020. It is expected to do away with the eastern leg of Phase 2B from Birmingham to Leeds and there is talk of downgrading Crewe to Manchester to a normal speed line rather than a high-speed line.

BPS 2019 – Exchange Rate Set!
The euro exchange rate for calculating BPS 2019 payments has been set. The rate is an average of the European Central Bank exchange rates set in September and will be €1 = £0.89092.
Welsh BPS Loan Scheme
The Welsh Government have confirmed that they will be offering a “BPS Support Scheme” in 2019. This will mean that if farmers are unlikely to get paid on the payment date (1st December), they will be able to apply for the loan.
