SPS payment Rate for 2012

The payment rate per hectare before modulation are as folllows:- Non SDA              £258.50 SDA                      £207.72 SDA Moorland     £ 36.29 The modulation rate is set at 14% for payments up tp 5,000 euros and 19% for payments over 5,000 euros.

Rostons Exam Success

Tony Rimmer, Director of Rostons, is pleased to report that our two trainee Chartered Surveyors have both recently passed their final exams and will become Members of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors.

This is the culmination of five years of study, three years at Harper Adams University and two years in the workplace.

Enititlement Trading 2012/13

The Euro/£ exchange rate has been set at 0.79805 for SPS 2012 payments. This means that claimants will receive nearly 7p less per Euro than last year resulting in a reduction in their SPS payment of 8%.

As the busy Entitlement Trading period approaches, recent trading has seen English non-SDA entitlements achieving between £180 and £200 per hectare (excluding VAT).

SDA and SDA moorland entitlements are guided at £160 and £35 per hectare (excluding VAT) respectively.

Slurry Spreading Extension

The Environment Agency (EA) is allowing spreading to take place until 15 October for tillage land and 31 October for grassland. It allows the spreading of slurry as a last resort for farms during the first two weeks of the normal closed periods. for further advice please follow link
