At the recent Stewards Supper of the Cheshire Agricultural Society, Tony Rimmer, Director of Rostons, was delighted to be awarded a Certificate of Merit to mark his outstanding commitment to the Agri Centre.
In commending Tony for the award, Stuart Yarwood, Chairman of the Agri Centre stated that “The live demonstrations of sheep shearing, feeding calves, milking cows, ice cream and cheese making are all in Tony’s repertoire of commentaries to the show going public which he steadfastly commits himself to, on both days.
His impeccable style would have been one of the main reasons that The Agri Centre enjoyed the generous sponsorship from Sainsburys for six years as the live convergence of the public to watch a cow being milked is seeing to believe and his inner confidence to magnetically draw a crowd is unique.”
Commenting on the award, Tony Rimmer says he was honoured and humble to receive such a Certificate of Merit and it was nice to receive an award for something that he is passionate about and enjoys so much.
Particularly with the changes proposed post Brexit, the industry needs to educate the general public now more than ever and the Show is instrumental in doing this.
