It has this morning been announced by Phil Hogan, the European Agriculture Commissioner that he intends to allow an extension to the deadline to make BPS 2015 payments.
Carys Studley of Rostons comments that the extension has been justified as a result of the difficulties being experienced in a number of the member states within the European Union.
In practice this will mean that English and Welsh payment agencies will be able to make BPS 2015 payments without a penalty being applied to them for late payments.
Carys Studley also comments that this window has now been extended to the 15 October 2016 instead of what would usually be the 30 June 2016.
