Rostons Land & Property Specialists reports that details have been confirmed of the changes to Permitted Development Rights to allow change of use from commercial to residential. Changes will apply only to buildings in B1(A) Office Use. The change of use will be subject to a prior notification procedure.
The exact date these changes will take effect is not yet known, but will be some time from Spring 2013. This amendment will initially be for three years, followed by a review of its impact at the end of that period. Sam Starkey of Rostons advises that owners of buildings in B1(A) office use should consider the benefit of converting such buildings to residential. Rostons are already advising a number of clients of this and if we can be of assistance please do not hesitate to contact us.
