The FFIS is part of the Rural Development Programme for England (RDPE) and is a scheme developed to support Farming, Forestry and Horticultural businesses in England.
The scheme aims to make the business more profitable and also reducing the impact farming has on the environment.
So far, two rounds of FFIS have been welcomed and earlier this year there were talks of a third round. Carys Williams of Rostons is hopeful that there will be a third round and comments:
“There is talk that an announcement of a third and final round of the FFIS will be made in the next month”.
Examples of eligible items under the grant are, for example, a cattle crush or cattle handling facilities, rotating cow brushes, segregation gates or an upgrade of computer software. There are many more items that are eligible for funding should this third round be announced.
Rostons are closely monitoring this news and should this be something you are interested in applying should this become available, please feel free to contact the Rostons team.
