Planning Application Case Study

Planning case study

We originally instructed Rostons in 2017 to obtain planning permission to erect a general purpose shed to accommodate our dry cows. The Rostons team attended the farm and talked through the process and produced a detailed report and justification with drawings and plans for our approval prior to submission. Their knowledge of the planning system and the dairy sector ensured the application was approved with no issues or conditions.

We then approached Rostons again for a further livestock building in 2019 to house heifers and youngstock.. The proposed new shed would result in all stock being in close proximity to the farmstead and would be hugely beneficial to our business. A number of consultees opposed the proposed building due to odour and NVZ issues, however once again with their knowledge and contacts, Rostons were able to obtain full planning permission for the shed. This has really helped with efficiency on the holding and ensured the business is even more sustainable.

I was constantly kept up to date throughout the job and informed of the process to ensure that planning would be passed. I would certainly recommend Rostons for any agricultural planning matters.
