A recent update has been published in regards to the payment of Basic Payment claims for 2015.
It is claimed that 47% of claimants have been paid but the majority of those fall within claims ranging between €3,000 to €15,000. A proportion of larger claims (€15,000 – €50,000) have been paid and just 3% of the largest claims (€50,000 plus) have been paid.
Approximately 15,000 letters have been sent to claimants between the 30th November and the 2nd December, particularly relating to claimants that either had common land, cross border or had a recent 2015 inspections.
Confusingly these letters did not mean that if a letter was not received then payment is likely to be due before the end of January.
Carys Studley of Rostons comments that “whilst the RPA state that the RLE1 processing entitlements and land transfers submitted before the 30th September 2015 in the majority of cases have been completed, there are concerns that some have been missed and urges anyone who has recently been paid to check that their payment has been based on the correct area/entitlement amounts which were declared.”
It is likely that a claim statement will be posted out to claimants in the New Year which will give a clear indication of what basis the claim was made on.
