Awel Y Mor Route Options Published

As progress with the Awel Y Mor offshore windfarm project continues, three possible landfall and onshore cable routes have been identified by the developer, RWE. The West and Centre routes hit the coastline in Abergele while the East route comes onshore to the East of Rhyl, all routes lead to the National Grid sub-station at Bodelwyddan.

The cables will be installed in open trenches, which will cause disruption to farming and other activities on the land.

Please see the plan below.

Jonathan Bell of Rostons comments that “It is important that those affected take this opportunity to seek professional advice, with early engagement being key to mitigating the impact, a public consultation has also opened and anyone impacted should respond”.
