A recent announcement by Owen Patterson has been made that loans to cover 50% of the project costs (up to a maximum of £400,000) will be available to English Farmers investing in on farm anaerobic digesters. This loan is available for small scale plants up to 250kW, and are expected to be issued to farmers at the beginning of 2014.
Carys Williams of Rostons comments that this funding will provide an opportunity for farmers to install AD on their farm. In addition to the loan funding, farmers can also apply for a grant of up to £10,000 which will help cover the costs of investigating the opportunity and creating a business plan.
Should you be considering an AD installation, it will be well worth investigating this recent announcement further and should you wish to discuss this please feel free to contact the Rostons Team.
